The invention of Hugo Cabre, By Brian Selznick, published in 2007. the invention of Hugo cabre is a great book about a young boy living in a train station running through halls and the ceiling making sure all the clocks are would right and have the right time. As the book goes on we learn about what its like to live in a train station with no adult mentor and how life can be hard when you’re trying to live off the grid. I especially liked the part when he is learning about the shopkeepers and his history with music, the filmmaking industry and especially the part when he has the flashback to the first time he saw a movie and how fascinated he was by it. Another one of my favorite parts is when the toyshop maker is lecturing him and when he steals his notepad and sketchbook and then sees the crazy inventions and ideas he has. All this together should prove why I think more people should enjoy this book and give it a read. Also, I really enjoyed the ilistrations they helped me get through the book a lot faster.
